This past weekend’s racing at Riverside Speedway, a PASS sanctioned speedway, was a day late, but certainly not a dollar short on excitement.  All divisions put on great shows, and the Angels had extra distance added for a total of 50 laps.

 The Street Stocks started off the night, with the 02 of Tom Sokolis started on the pole, with the 07 of Bill Stebbins Jr outside.  Sokolis took the lead and the 1 of Mike Mcgee moved into the 2nd spot.  On lap 4, the 06 of Michael Moore moves into the 2nd spot and the 95 of Alex Theroux moved into 3rd.  Just 2 laps later Theroux moved into 2nd and then 1st and the 27 of Troy Randall moved into 2nd.  On lap 10, Tori Delabruere, in the 76, moved into the third spot.  Theroux and Randall raced each other hard swapping back and forth the lead.  Theroux took the checkered flag, with Randall 2nd, and Delabruere 3rd

             The Outlaw Sportsmen were up next.  The 17 of Steve Patnaude started on the pole, with the 93 of Reggie Theroux outside.  Theroux took the initial lead.  Patnaude and Theroux swapped back and forth the lead by inches.  On lap 4, the 68 of Jonathan Ledger moved into 2nd, and the 74 of Doug Laleme took 3rd.  Ledger took the lead, and never looked back.  At the stripe it was Ledger, followed by Theroux and Laleme.

             The Daredevil Novice division took the field next, and put on a great show, these kids get better each week.  The 93 of Cameron Bowen sat on the pole, with the 68 of Keith Lord outside.  Lord took the lead and the 62 of Dilyn Switser moved into 2nd, then in to the top spot.  The 8 of Tyler Leighton and the 29 of Brendan Hunt battle for the 3rd spot on lap 10, they get together, and Hunt goes around.  Switser takes the restart, and the 75 of Andrew Fecteau moved into 3rd.  The 3 of Kristopher Russell and Fecteau get together and nearly spin, with Russell overtaking 3rd.  Switser takes the checkers followed by Bowen and Russell.

             In the Daredevil Veterans, the 44 of Kyle Pembroke started on the pole with the 07 of Manville Powers III outside.  Pembroke took the lead, as the 12 of Brett Gervais moved into 2nd and the 73 of Riley Hartshorn moved into 3rd.  On lap 5, the 72 of Cody Hodge overtook third.  Hodge moved into 2nd on lap 10, and 1st on lap 12.  On lap 16, the 5 of Jesse Switser moved into the 3rd spot.  Hodge took the win, followed by Pembroke and Switser.

             In the Angels, the 13 of Mary Eastman started on the pole, with the 00 of Ciara McCoy outside her door.  Eastman took the lead, as the 41 of Vanessa Brown moved into 2nd.  Brown having problems with the car brings it to the pits.  The 6 of Miranda Gervais moved to 2nd, and the 36 of Allison Brown to 3rd.  On lap 3 the 1 of Jennifer Terrill and McCoy get together sending McCoy over the turn 2 bank.  Eastman takes the restart, but it is short lived, as Gervais takes the lead, and Allison Brown moves to 2nd.  On lap 7, the 5 of Traci Nelson moves to the 3rd spot.  On lap 10 the 44 of Jennie Dion passes Nelson for 3rd, then Brown and Gervais get together, Brown recovers quickly, Dion moves to 2nd and Nelson 3rd.  McCoy’s car shuts down on lap 16, bringing out the caution.  On the restart, Brown gets the jump.  Dion takes the lead on lap 30, as the caution comes out for a car off turn 3.  Dion takes the restart and the win, followed across the line by Gervais and Nelson.

             The Dwarfs took to the field next, with the 20 of Bobby Riley on the pole, with the 19 of Allyn Briggs outside.  Riley took the lead.  On lap 3 the 28 of Ernie Baker moved to 3rd, then 2nd, and the 11 of Howard Switser moved to 3rd.  The caution came out.  Baker took the restart.  The 4 of Nathan Brown moved into 3rd, and on lap 19 moved into 2nd.  At the line it was Baker, followed by Brown and the 2 of Eric Hall.

             The final event of the evening was the Super Stocks.  The 7 of Cody Leblanc started on the pole, with the 55 of Jamie Longley outside.  Longley took the lead as the 1of Jeremy Lacoss moved to 3rd.  Lacoss moved to the 2nd spot on lap 2.  Longley was black flagged for leaking fuel, giving Lacoss the lead.  Brian Middleton in the 31 moved into 2nd, and the 73 of David Ofsuryk Jr. moved into 3rd.  On lap 9 the 04 of Nathan Swallow and the 13 of Luke Shannon get together bringing out the yellow.  Middleton takes the lead on the restart.  On lap 23 Lacoss makes a moved under Middleton for the lead bringing Ofsuryk with him for 2nd.  Middleton shuts down and the 77 of James Lambert moves into 3rd.  Lambert takes away 2nd on lap 26.  On lap 29 the axle breaks under Leblanc’s car sending him backwards over turn 2.  Lambert takes the restart and the win, followed by Lacoss and Shannon.

Next week is a huge weekend of racing.  Friday night will be the 100 lap Jake McDowell 100 lap memorial Street Stock race.  Also on the card will be the Late Models, Super Stocks, Daredevils and Monster Trucks. Post time is 7:30pm. Then on Saturday, the big guns come to town, the PASS Super Late Models, With legends Dave Dion and Kelly Moore, PASS Modifieds, The STAR (Senior Tour Auto Racers), the Outlaw Sportsman, Angels, Dwarf Cars, Cyclones and Monster Trucks.
